Suya is one of those foods that just hits like no other.
Grilled meats over an open flame. Spicy, nutty, smoky, and a little sweet. Layers of flavor that keep unfolding with each bite.
Usually had after dark, on streets filled with music and laughter.
Growing up in Nigeria, I could never get enough. It was probably one of the foods I missed most after after moving to America. Naturally, it was the first thing I asked for whenever I went back.
Suya was such a big part of my childhood, and that craving followed me into adulthood. After years of searching for a yaji blend in the diaspora that brought me back to those nights at the aboki stand, I finally had to create my own.
FAQs

Nutty, smoky, spicy, and a little sweet, with warm, aromatic layers that unfold with each bite.
How do I use it?
Mix with oil to season meat, seafood, or vegetables before grilling or roasting. Or sprinkle over cooked dishes as a finishing spice. Try it on roasted potatoes, eggs, or popcorn.

Yes, peanuts are a core ingredient. Please review the full ingredient list and allergen information before ordering.
How should I store it?
Keep tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
How spicy is it?
It has a slow-building heat from African bird’s eye chili and Cameroon pepper. Start with a light sprinkle and add more to taste.
